Fuel Prices reviewed downward
7 June 2021
The energy regulator’s innovative and rigorous review of the fuel price build up is aimed at achieving a sustainable least cost pump price for consumers.
Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) said this in a statement issued yesterday to explain the fuel price decrease which took effect on 5 June 2021.
ZERA said the fuel price for the month of June was supposed to marginally increase to USD1.35 but through innovative price review mechanisms, the cap was set at USD$1.30 for diesel while petrol remained at USD$1.33.
Fuel price for the month of May 2021 was USD1.32 for diesel and USD$1.33 for blend.
The local currency prices for fuel also came down from ZWL$ 111. 43 for diesel in May to the prevailing ZWL$ 110.54 while blend is now ZWL$112.55 from ZWL$ 112.66 in May.
ZERA said demand for fuel is increasing in the country following economic stimulus measures put in place and the Covid-19 vaccination roll out programme. For more, follow the link below: https://www.zera.co.zw/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/fpr-final-june.png
